Finally today, the sun was out. The weathermen have been pretty far off the mark this whole week. They have been claiming clear skies and a warming trend since Tuesday. Today we got the clearing skies, but it wasn't that much warmer. It was definitely still jacket weather, but the main point was that it was dry outside, which meant we got to do a vert show for the first time this week.
When we arrived at Northwest High today, the ramp was setup in a parking lot on the backside of the campus. The original plan was to have an assembly during the last period of school. Due to some testing that was taking place in the district today, we had to do the show after school. The plan was to sort of make it an after school pep rally style event, and catch the kids as they made their way towards the bus. The bell rang at 2:30 as planned, and students started making their way towards the bus. It was a slow roll toward our area, and I made some pre show announcements to draw attention to the setup. It was a slow trickle of students, but eventually we got a crowd. We saw the buses rolling away, so we decided it was time to start the show. It was definitely a small crowd, but all 5 guys rode extremely well, especially Marc and Anthony, because this was the first time they have been able to ride all week. At the end of the show, both Koji and Austin pulled a couple of flairs. They don't do them the normal way, those guys both go opposite on that trick. Austin wasn't happy with his first flair, so he took one more run and pulled a no handed flair.
After the show, a handful of students stuck around for trivia. They were a good group, and having some fun with it, so me ran with it a little longer than usual today, and gave out some extra prizes. That's all for today, one more day in Indianapolis and then its off to Chicago for the final week of the tour. As we tore down the ramp today, more clouds started to roll in. The weathermen are all saying high winds tomorrow, lets hope they are wrong again tomorrow.
