It's no secret that running a skatepark is a tough business. While it's always been hard (vast commercial spaces don't come cheap), the numerous free public skateparks popping up in communities around the country haven't made things any easier for the private indoor facilities. Even in cold-weather climates things are tough, but in a warm climate like Florida, it's… Continue
Ten Pack, the Canadian BMX distributor owned by BMX legend Jay Miron, held a Pro/AM competition, in association with Pepsi, at Le TAZ skatepark in Montreal last weekend. Ten Pack has put on some of the best BMX events over the years (Metro Jam ring any bells? How about Red Bull Elevation?) so some big names were bound to show up in Montreal. And that they did... Alistair Whitton, Chris Doyle, Tony Hamlin and more turned up. Check out the video above and the results… Continue

Winter is almost upon us in many parts of the country, and it's about time to start thinking about how you'll get your winter riding/skating fix. The lucky Southerners need not worry, but for the rest of us, the indoors will soon be calling. We'll look at different indoor skateparks throughout the winter, but for now, here are five worth your time in the car. Again, it's only five, and by no means a complete list. Stay tuned for more throughout the winter, but try these out in the… Continue
Just when you thought things might be winding down for the year, Dave Mirra is putting together an invitation-only contest at his private "Animal House" warehouse in North Carolina, December 11-12. The clips never leave the phone to get edited. It's all done right there on the phone. Titles and all. Apparently you'll soon be able to add music too.
If you've got an iPhone 3Gs, you too can make videos with the $7.99 app. When you're done,… Continue

A few months ago Nike 6.0 released "Writing on the Wall" a full-length BMX film released in sections to various BMX sites across the internet for free. A well done film for free is nothing to scoff at, but when it's got some of the best riding of the year in it there is popcorn to be made.
Dennis Enarson's part (along with Garrett Reynold's part from the same video) are no doubt going to be nominated for Video Part of the Year at this… Continue
I started out as a flatland rider. In the 80s everyone rode flatland. You weren't a ramp rider, or a flatlander, you just rode, and you rode it all. Slowly, things got more complex, and the various facets of riding got a bit more segmented.
In those days a bike was a bike you rode ramps and flatland on the same bike you'd toil around on the local dirt jumps. Fast forward 25 years and things were quite a bit different. Riders ride street, or dirt, or flatland,… Continue
