The second night of Qualifying just wrapped in Costa Mesa, and it was every bit as packed with heavy-hitters as the first. TJ Ellis, Cory Nastazio, John Jennings, Austin Coleman, Mike "Hucker" Clark and more. Double flips, double downside whip 360s... there were plenty of bangers being thrown out all night long.
Tonight saw the second group of 18 riders attempting to qualify for Friday's final (last night was the first group). Each group… Continue

Group A rode tonight, and if it was any indication of… Continue
Ronnie Renner was at it again this weekend for Red Bull's High Rise event in Chicago. A few months back he set the Motorcycle Quarterpipe height record out in Venice, California, but Renner wasn't letting anyone else get a jump on topping him.
This weekend Renner set a new Guinness World Record 22-foot-tall quarterpipe, as 41 feet 5 inches from the top of the ramp, or 63 feet 5 inches high, total. Personally, I think the measurement from… Continue

It was a big weekend in Huntington Beach. The US Open of Surfing, the Nike 6.0 BMX Pro, and of course the Converse Coastal Carnage skate contest.
Coastal Carnage took place in a bowl which featured a spine, taco, and cradle, so the lines were many, and fast paced.
Three AMs dominated the podium, beating out some big names like Rune Glifberg, Tony Trujillo, and Holmes himself, Christian Hosoi. The winner, Raven Tershay, sliced open his hand in his intro run of the finals,… Continue

Spanish native Dany Torres kept Madrid's X-Fighters title in Spain earlier today, beating out Nate Adams, the winner of the Fort Worth round. Adams put down a huge run, but the judges favored Torres. While I was merely watching the live web cast, Adams did not appear to agree with the judges.
Cam Sinclair took a nasty fall on a double backflip. No solid report on his condition as of yet, but the word is he's had surgery to repair a lacerated liver and is in a medically induced coma.… Continue

Just before heading out to Vegas to film TJ Lavin's 4th of July Jam, I stopped off at Shad Johnson's place for Team Shralp's "Get It Flat" jam. I didn't have much time, as I had to get to the airport, and quite honestly I didn't expect much to be happening. I figured they'd have a launch ramp set up out front, and a grind box or something. When I got there I found two quarterpipes being set up over Shad's front stairs, creating an over the stairs… Continue

In true guerilla fashion, Robbie "Maddo" Maddison backflipped the gap on the London Bridge last night around 2:30am.
Rumors had been circulating that he was up to something, but no one outside Robbie's circle and Red Bull knew what was up. Amongst tight lips, Maddo flipped the 75-foot gap in the middle of the night, with no practice and a small… Continue
