Study of Retired Athletes' Brains Show Concussions Damage

Concussions are serious business, and unfortunately rather common in the Action Sports. Many people, even physicians have written them off as minor, with little permanent damage.

Diversion from Isolation: Skateboarding in Afghanistan

The New York Times has an interesting feature up about Afghanistan's first Skateboarding school. It's not something I'd thought much about but here in the States we talk about "keeping kids out of trouble" and skateboarding is definitely a global way to achieve that.

George Gallo

George Gallo is one of the funniest people I've ever met. George goes way back in BMX, and is a true pioneer of "street comedy."

George and Kenan Harkin used to travel quite a bit together, and made for an interesting pair, always producing humor along the way. At one point they even infiltrated the MTV Video Music Awards in NYC, with George being interviewed on the Red Carpet and everything.

Happy Birthday, Mat.

Today is Mat Hoffman's birthday, so what better time to post up this video from the original big ramp... No, not the "Mega Ramp." That was a knock off of a concept Mat Hoffman pioneered many years early.

It wasn't done for TV cameras, or a big crowd. It was done for fun, and that's what riding BMX is all about.

A Suitcase Full of Undies

The excitement in my office took an unexpected turn yesterday when the always entertaining skateboarder Ben Graham stopped in, on his way to Barcelona to film. Ben had his backpack, skateboard and a suitcase full of underwear.

Not since the seminal film "The Big Lebowski" have I witnessed a man put his underwear in a breifcase. I was impressed, so we captured the moment.…

Simpel Session

Simpel Session in Estonia has become, hands down, the most anticipated BMX contest of the year for the riders. The amazing course, and good times had by all far outweigh any prize money that could be offered. It all gets back to why we all do this in the first place — fun.
