We took a week off for spring break, and soon it was back to the grindstone. We had all gone our separate ways for a few days, but regrouped in central Connecticut on Sunday April 24th. The weather forecast for the area wasn't looking to promising. I took my week off in Dallas, and it was sunny and hot. When I arrived back in the northeast, I was greeted by 40 degree temps and lots of rain. The forecast for the week was calling for rain for most of the week, we were hoping that was not the… Continue

We had a great weekend off in Tampa FL at Busch Gardens. Some of the boys got a break from the cold weather, and were able to ride the big ramp, but after a fast paced weekend of sunny skies, and 80 degree temps, it was back on a plane and back to the cold weather.
Our travels this week take us to the island, Long Island that is, and winter refused to release it's grasp on the area. It was in the mid 40's and windy and rainy when we landed. The forecast didn't look good for… Continue

Raleigh was cold and rainy for most of the week, and guess what??? That weather decided to follow us into the greater Philadelphia area. They actually had snow here, a few days before we rolled into town. We left Raleigh and it was sunny and in the 70's, by the time we got to Baltimore, it was cold, and grey, and we knew what we were in for. Our shows this week were at Downingtown, West Chester East, Triton, Truman, and Oxford Area High Schools. The crew for this week was the same as last… Continue

Well, it's that time of year again. It seems like just last week, we wrapped up the 2010 Fall Tour. It may have seemed like last week, but we took a few months off for the holidays, and some much needed R and R, and now it's back to work. The tour this spring is 6 weeks long, and we take it to the eastern side of the country.
Our first stop for 2011 is the Raleigh NC area. We haven't been through here since the fall tour of 2009. It was nice to be back in some familiar… Continue

We're still hanging around the Metroplex this week. We had another weekend off in the big D. It was kind of a quiet weekend, until Sunday night. We watched an absolute smackdown of the Dallas Cowboys, by the Green Bay Packers on NBC that night. It wasn't much fun to watch such a blowout, but it definitely gave us something to talk about that night. Outside of the football beatdown, it was a relatively quiet weekend. I think everyone is just about ready to get home, and settle in for the… Continue

Ahhhhhhh good ole Dallas. I miss this place. I lived here for many years, and in a lot of ways, I still consider this place home. I have a ton of memories, and lots of friends here, and much like my Houston post, there is a TON of skate history in this area.
We rolled into town on Friday night, spent the weekend catching up with old friends, watching some baseball and football, and of course getting ready for Halloween. Unfortunately, it was not a good sports weekend. The Cowboys got… Continue

We had a short drive into Houston from San Antonio, and it was going to be a bit of a surprise evening. Apparently there was some sort of skate jam benefit at the local concrete park in downtown Houston. I figured it was going to be a bunch of the local guys, but I had no idea how many of them would actually come out of the woodwork for this event. I will rewind this a few decades, and give you a little Texas skate history.
For those of you who don't know, Texas was a skateboarding hotspot… Continue

BMX is a sport that praises the do it yourself ethic, and one should always search out and find independent movies if they can. Many of the best BMX videos are underground, but they can usually only be found regionally. Therefore, while we would have liked to include them in this list, it’s somewhat difficult to do so. What we consider to be the Top Five BMX Movies of All Time, in no particular order, are:
1) Insight: Ever wonder how BMX videos are made? Insight, by TransWorld,… Continue

St. Louis was pretty much the halfway point of the tour. After a week in the Show Me State, it was time to hop a plane and head south, where the stars at night, shine big and bright.......you should know the rest. We find ourselves in good ole San Antonio for week 8. This actually kicks off the final 5 weeks of the tour, and all in the Lone Star State. Our schools this week are, John F Kennedy, Edison, Fox Tech, Memorial, and Teddy Roosevelt High Schools. We have a few new athlete changes for… Continue

It was a good two weeks in Ohio, but it felt like it came and went, as fast as the cold front that moved through the state. We said our goodbyes to Austin, Anthony and Jay, and on Saturday, we embarked on the journey to the Show Me State. It was about a seven and a half hour drive, but Eito made the most of it, taking plenty of pictures. He was very impressed with the St Louis Arch as we drove into town. We took Sunday to relax, watch some football, and enjoy some St Louis style pizza. It was… Continue

It was a short drive down I-71 into Columbus, but boy was it windy, rainy, and chilly. A nice weather front had settled over Ohio, and made for some nasty conditions throughout most of the state. We took the rainy Saturday night off, did some laundry, spent the rest of the weekend watching football, and then on Monday it was back to work.
The crew this week, was the same as last. Trevor Meyer (flatland), Austin Coleman (BMX), Jay Eggleston (BMX), Anthony Furlong (skateboard) and Eito… Continue

Last week of the tour ended with rain and an indoor show, that also brought wind and colder temperatures to the area. That Saturday we all drove to Ft Wayne IN, for the next installment of the ASA BMX Big Air Triples competitions. It was about a 3 hour drive to Ft Wayne, but I had forgotten that there was a time zone change. Fortunately we left in enough time, to allow us to arrive before the event started. It was a big night in Ft Wayne, and all eyes were on Brett Banaciewicz, but in the end,… Continue

Had a few days off over the weekend, and made the 8 hour drive down to the greater Chicago area. The Windy City is always a good time, lots of BMX history in the area, and lots of friends to catch up with as well. We did not get to spend too much time in the city, because our shows were based out in the suburbs. We based ourselves out of a suburb called Naperville, for the weekend, and soon it was time to get back to work.
We had a few athlete changes for this week. We lost Tom Haugen… Continue

Week # 2 of the High School brought us a little to the northeast of Denver, to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area of Minnesota. It was a short 2 hour flight to the Twin Cities, and when we got there, we actually had a day off to relax and watch the opening weekend of the NFL season.
The schools this week were Mound Westonka, Humboldt, Harding, Park Senior, and Monticello High Schools. The riders this week were Trevor Meyer (flatland), Tom Haugen (BMX), Dustin Griess (BMX), Jay Stevason… Continue

It feels like just yesterday that we wrapped up our 8 week spring tour, but here we are again, ready to kick off another run of high school shows. This fall's tour lasts 11 weeks, and has us traveling through 6 different states. Week number one, kicks off in Denver.
We started the weekend off with some shows in Pueblo, just about 110 miles down I-25 from Denver. We had a few days of shows at the Colorado State Fair. After a quick breakdown, and some athlete changes, it was time to… Continue

Awesome weather today. Warm temps, not a lot wind, a perfect spring day. It's just our luck, seeing as how this is our last day of the week in Buffalo. At least we get to go out with good conditions right?
Our event today was about 25 minutes down the road from the hotel at Lockport High School. When we rolled up to the campus, we had a perfect layout for the show. It was a nice level concrete area, with plenty of room to work with. We had arrived kind of early, and had over 30… Continue
