I got another update from Debbie's brother today. Things seem to be going well, but there is still room for much more improvement in Mike's condition. If you look at the bottom of this post, Debbie lists a website for the hospital Mike is at. You can go to that site and actually write Mike and Debbie comments. This is the first update email I received from Debbie's brother:

Hi,

Michael had his first IV treatment Friday, at 4:30 p.m. They put a port in his hand around 10 a.m. in preparation, which will be removed this morning. He did great. No itching, burning or headaches which can be common side effects. The process lasted 1 hr. 15 min. and we were in the treatment room with 2 other patients and their families. This was an email sent out by Debbie on May 28th, 4 days before their trip.


It has been over 16 months since Michael's (Vinny's) accident, yet the journey is just about to begin! On Monday, June 1st, we head to one of several airports on our journey to Qingdao, China. Memorial Day weekend we had a major event in southwestern Ohio. The ASA Action Sports World Tour for 2009 continued, with a huge event at Kings Island amusement park, just outside of Cincinnati. It was an action packed weekend filled with rides, fireworks, BMX vert, and skate vert contests, as well as live music and freestyle motocross demos.
