red bearings rock, try to get a fully symmetrical lip board on both sides, silvers destructo or thunder are good, and splitfires rock as wheels

I like riding an element board, and spitfire wheels. the board has good pop and the wheels are really smooth. so i reccomend them.

Ok, First of all, since you are new to skateboarding, you want to start out with a minimul budget. if you are riding top-of-the-line gear and cant even ollie or pop-shuvit, people will call you spoilt or a poser. whatever they feel like. my advice is, start off with something a little more cheap like a blank complete for $30 that you can find at your local mall skateshop or your hometown proshop.

if you want info on bearings, grip, or trucks and whatnot:

you should get these:

RUSH ABEC 3 BEARING
BLACK MAGIC GRIPTAPE
SPITFIRE WHEELS ( 54 MM )
HUBBA HARDWARE
TRUCKS DONT REALLY MATTER SINCE OBVIOUSLY YOU WONT BE DOING ANY HEAVY GRINDING ANY THIME SOON
Now shoes, this is what will make you look like a poser. Dont buy any from Wall-Mart.
If you need to, buy some Vans ( JCPENNEY ) or some NSS's ( SEARS ). they both have skateteams. dont know if that helps any... if you can get to a skate shop, buy OSIRUS, LAKAI, or Zoo York. basically, if it is a clothing company or board company that makes shoes, get them as they specalize in making them. by skaters. for skaters.

I think if you want start skateboarding you will need some used gear. Don´t spend your money whit top brands cos´ you need to adjust and learn first, them u take some better skate and gear. First thing first. START SKATE AND HAVE FUN and don´t forget IF YOU FALL, GET UP KID, THAT´S THE WAY.
